NSS Cell
NSS cell: The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India which was begun in 1969. Its primary aim is personality development through social (or community) service. The NSS motto is "Not me, Not you, But We".
Aims: The program aims to inculcate social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias. NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity. In doing so, volunteers learn from people in villages how to lead a good life despite a scarcity of resources.
Organization: North Tripura District polytechnic has started the NSS unit from September 2016. Our NSS unit comprises around 60 students of 1st year, 45 students of 2nd year and 35 students of 3rd year as volunteer. They are managed internally by a responsible faculty member Sri Dilip Debbarma (NSS program officer), who reports to the regional NSS coordinator.
