INTRODUCTION

“North Tripura District Polytechnic” established in 2014 by Government of Tripura under the scheme called “Submission on Polytechnic’s Under Coordinated Action Plan for Skilled Development” of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), New Delhi and is committed to provide modern technical skills to the budding technocrats‟ in disciplines such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering with total annual intake of 180 (One Hundred Eighty). It is located in the sylvan surroundings and cool climes of picturesque NTDP Campus, approx 9 kilometers away from the district town and Municipal Council of North Tripura i.e. Dharmanagar & situated amidst greenery adjoining the National Highway 44. It is perhaps one of the best equipped Polytechnic in the state with extremely well qualified & vibrant young teaching staffs, and students selected strictly based on their merit and aptitude to lean in giving adequate weight age to the innovative teens. Although infrastructural facilities are available for a full-fledged Polytechnic, its objectives consciously restrict to creating an “Island of Excellence”. The well-equipped state-of-the-art laboratories of this Polytechnic are now suffices the needs of students & solemnly dedicated to make the students competent for new technical arena. It is always been the endeavor of the members of teaching staffs to constantly strive for academic excellence, and create an atmosphere of competitive spirit under all odds. Since the advent of this Polytechnic it has became able to establish its name as one of the pioneering centre of excellence providing Higher Education in this district. It is administered by Education (Higher) Department, Govt. of Tripura, affiliated to "Tripura University (a Central University)", Suryamaninagar, Agartala, Tripura (West) and approval by AICTE New Delhi.
